Charles Nkosana Kodi was born1964 in Tembisa, Gauteng. He was brought by his grandmother Rosina and mother Grace who members of Zion Christian Church. Nkosana would later prove his talent singing at school from the age of 12 years and also at church.

He was a lead singer of Stocks & Stocks, and also featured in Bafana Ba Mmino and a few other groups. Kodi was a staunch member of the Z.C.C and was well known for his ‘Mkhukhu’ style of singing and dancing. With about 50 albums under his belt, the gospel singer had collaborated with a number of well-known artists in the industry including Sello "Chicco" Twala and Solly ‘Moholo’ Molokoane. Nkosana died in June 2014 after a respiratory illness.
